A jpg file is an image saved in a compressed format and will look pixelated and lose its quality once resized. An eps file is saved in a vector format with transparency and can be resized indefinitely without losing its quality. EPS files are saved as mathematical coordinates rather than pixels and are ideal for digital barcode artwork.ONLY .EPS files should be used for package and coupon design!

To compensate for bar growth/reduction which will occur during the print process, digital barcode graphics files (original artwork) must include a bar width adjustment factor. Typically the bars within a barcode symbol grow when printed due to ink spread so the adjustment is normally a reduction in bar width. Our online application will automatically apply common bar width reductions based on type of symbol and size. However, this number can be manually changed.
